The cancellation policy for any single day Open Boat trip is 72 HOURS or 3 DAYS, and multi-day Open Boat trips are 14 DAYS, prior to trip departure. Inside the cancellation period, you will be responsible for the full cost of each of your cancelled spots. No rain checks! If we can fill your spot (or you have someone to take your place), you will not be charged. This cancellation policy pertains to our Open Boat trips only! The cancellation policy for each Charter Group may be different, so please check with the Charter Group. All scheduled trips will run, regardless of rain or shine (you’re going to get wet anyway!). MR. C will only cancel a trip if conditions are deemed unsafe for passengers.
All destinations and departure times are subject to change depending decisions made by the Captain(s) on weather and sea conditions. Unfortunately, we are not able to predict what the weather will be like for an upcoming trip. The crossing to the islands may be rough, but there are many places the boat can “hide” from the weather so that your diving is still enjoyable. The Captain(s) will not place the passengers or the boat in danger. The local marine forecast is checked prior to the departure of all trips. Unfortunately, as with any weather forecast, conditions can change in a matter of minutes. The Captain(s) will make the final determination as to the destination and departure times, for the safety of all aboard.
All passengers who take game are responsible for adhering to California Department of Fish and Game Laws. Each passenger is responsible for all game he/she takes, including the legal size, possession limits and applicable season. DO NOT SHOOT OR TAKE GAME AND THEN ASK WHAT IT IS! If you are not sure, please ask BEFORE taking game, our knowledgeable crew will be happy to assist you, as several species of California’s marine life are protected! The MR. C will not be responsible if you are caught and fined for taking illegal game. Please be sure your game bag is marked with your name and/or initials for easy identification, as most game bags look alike! If you bring an ice chest on board to store your game in, please be sure to bring your own ice as well. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
All passengers taking game must possess a current CALIFORNIA SALTWATER FISHING LICENSE, as well as an OCEAN ENHANCEMENT STAMP Department of Fish & Game License information: http://www.dfg.ca.gov/about/fishing/
Each passenger should provide his/her own personal items/toiletries for their trip, (i.e., towels, bathing suits, comb, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sunscreen, etc). The head contains a warm-water shower for your convenience. If you tend to get queasy, don’t forget your seasick medication! The MR. C normally carries a supply of aspirin/ibuprofen, and has a fully stocked first-aid kit in case of emergencies.
The MR. C provides both single and double bunks, sleeping up to 24 people. Single bunks are provided with one pillow and one blanket. Double bunks are provided with two pillows and two blankets. Each bunk has its own individual light. Passengers are welcome to bring a sleeping bag or extra pillows/blankets for their comfort. In order to keep our bunkroom dry and comfortable, no wet bathing suits or wet equipment is permitted below decks.
All Charter Groups are strongly encouraged to complete a Bunk Assignment sheet. The form can be downloaded here as an Acrobat PDF file: Bunk Assignment pdf. The Bunk Assignment will be posted in the Galley above the Sign-In sheet. Please check for a Bunk Assignment sheet before you settle into a bunk. If there is no Bunk Assignment, we recommend that all single passengers (those traveling alone) take a single bunk and couples (or those who don’t mind bunking together) take a double bunk.
All of our trips (unless otherwise specified) include food and non-alcoholic beverages. Passengers are welcome to bring along their own alcoholic beverages. However, we request that you bring your own ice and cooler to store them in. For those passengers with special diets (i.e., vegetarian), please be sure to inform the Charter Master or the MR. C, when booking your trip. In most cases, we can accommodate your dietary needs.
The MR. C provides ample gear space along both sides (starboard and port gunwales) of the back deck, for bags and/or storage containers. There is also corresponding space below . Fishing gear should be stored in the port and starboard gun racks located on the back deck. Please do not store them in the bait tank area.
The MR. C is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. All unclaimed equipment and/or other miscellaneous items left aboard the MR. C for more than 30 days will be discarded. We do not have enough storage to hold all unclaimed items for more than 30 days. Left aboard items such as clothing will be donated to local charities. Please be sure to check for your personal items and equipment before you leave the boat.
The 22nd Street Landing parking lot may be used ONLY to load/unload your gear. Please do not park in the 22nd Street Landing lot because your vehicle WILL be TOWED. Free parking is available in the lot directly across the street from the 22nd Street Landing.
Cameras and video equipment are welcome aboard. There are two fresh water rinse tanks located in the aft of the boat, for your convenience. There is also a charging station located behind the galley.
The MR. C is a home-based operation and thus, does not have an “Office” located on or near the boat. When you call the telephone number for the MR. C, you will not reach the boat itself. Therefore, we ask for your courtesy in refraining from early morning and late night telephone calls (before 8:00 a.m. and after 9:00 p.m.). Your consideration is very much appreciated.
