Thank you for choosing to fish or kayak with the MR C. We realize there are many options in southern California, and are eager to show you why you will want to stick with us.

Boarding

The MR C leaves the dock at 7AM, unless noted. It’s recommended that you arrive at the dock a minimum of one hour prior to boat departure. There are several orders of business that must be taken care of before leaving the dock, including sign-in, bunk selection, gear inventory, breakfast selection, and the pre-departure briefing.

Signing In

Upon arrival at the MR C, please sign in and fill out a waiver. These forms will be available on the tables, directly behind the galley. If you cannot locate the forms, please ask the captain. Please enter your member number (the number which corresponds with your name on the sign in sheet) on your waiver. As with any legal document you are strongly encouraged to read the waiver carefully before signing it. After signing in, you may find an available bunk and store all of your belongings that are not fishing or kayak related.

Equipment Assembly and Storage

After arriving at the Mr. C boat, storing any gear you are bringing, signing in, and selecting a bunk, you should assemble your gear as quickly as possible while checking to again make sure that it is functioning properly. There is room above the starboard and port gunwales (right and left sides) to store your gear. As a courtesy to your fellow beings, always store your gear so that it takes up as little room as possible. If you’re not sure where to put your gear bag ask the captain or the boat crew and they will be more than happy to assist you.

Tipping and Gratuities

It’s common practice to tip the boat crew (assuming you feel they’ve earned a tip). Though there is no hard and fast rule how much you should tip, generally 15% – 20% of the total cost of the trip is standard. Others suggest $5 per trip. Whatever your choice, please make sure to bring enough to offer a gratuity. The boat crew usually works pretty hard for you and most of the boats we charter go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everyone has a good time.

We Look Forward To Fishing With You!
